Nothing like driving across half of the U.S.. I do not recall ever visiting Tennessee before but I can sure say that is one beautiful state to look at. Green trees, hills, Elvis. :)

Before this our longest trip was 6 hours, which was to OKC. We left Wednesday night and stayed at Best Western in Greenville Texas, which is just northeast of Garland. Quick fairly smooth trip. Some rain kept Kim on the edge of her seat for a few miles but it was only a light pitter patter not a typical texas size storm. (well, part was Texas sized but not the part we were in).
Thursday morning we hit the road again with Nashville as the destination. Got into town about 21:00 (9pm) and hooked up with my sister and brother in law. Natalie had done some leg work to find

Fiddler's Inn
which had a reasonable price and was right accross from where they were staying at the OpryLand Hotel.
.

My Mom arrived at the airport at 13:00 (1pm CST) and met up for a while then went to the Montgomery Bell Inn where the reunion was to take place.
Some relatives were already there and others were yet to arrive. This has to be one of the most awesome parks I have seen in a long time. We went canoeing on the lake, walking around the park and duck (goose) chasing. Ate well, slept well and met lots of relatives. My mom (Ryans Oma) was very glad to see My fiance' and Ryan for the first time, and we all had lots of talks and stuff.
Saturday night there was a family dinner and Ryan stole the show. He started the clapping after one of the announcements then after one of the next speakers he even cheered. What a hoot.
Sunday we decided to make the trip back in a day. We took a leisurely 16+ hour trip out to Nashville but on the return trip, we said our goodbye's and started off at 10:30 (am CST) and arrived home at 1:00 (am CST)

Look for the photos in the gallery soon!
