Paul Graham, who I often quote becuase of his ideas in August 2002 for using bayesian algorithm to combat spam. Anyway, he has a new topic which is writing, and I agree fully. He describes the traditional essay and why the old format is deprecated and then describes a better method. When I started writing for these web pages, I borrowed some of my dad's college writing handbooks to refresh my memory, but they did not address my confusions. Such as, why the conclusion was supposed to be similar to the introduction. Well, Paul's essay addresses my concerns and gives a better template than anything I have seen so far. After I read this again, I think I will try again at writing some essays and let you know how it goes.

An award winning New York teacher took the gloves off and published a book on why we have mass education of our youth by the United States Government. He has all the necessary Orwell quotes included so I will spare you. This should be required reading for all teachers. johntaylorgatto.com
He has been "covertly" fired during medical leave and terminated a couple other times, as well as winning several teacher of the year awards.

In an intriguing conversation regarding nudity vs sexuality I disovered a different spin on acceptance, tolerance and patience. The general concept is that acceptance of everything, (i.e. nature, people, etc) is non-judgemental that is "Think Naked". Are you a naked thinker?
Maybe we should get some bumper stickers made up.

Contractions went to 5 minutes apart. Goofy thing is that for insurance to cover the home care "turbo" pump thing the pump has to be controlled by a perinatal doctor. So when the report went in for the frequency of contractions the nurse called the doctor in charge of the pump, which told her to call the primary OB doctor, which told her to call the doctor in charge of the pump.
About this time Kim was ready to yell "IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE". She finally got an answer and they said "Go To ER Now". So we did. In which case the nurse there says "Why did you come here?" (becuase they cannot do cesarian births there) even though we did not have the baby there. (not for another 8-10 weeks hopefully). That was wednesday. They did not get the contractions stopped but did get her somewhat sedated and to where the pain was not quite so rough. Yesterday was a mild day and lots of rest. We played Gin Rummy and watched a movie (The Girl Next Door, an odd murder mystery) Hopefully this weekend will be restful as well. We have several movies in the queue. (Including Clifford the Big Red Dog)
