+ 0 - 0 | § Duck Tape

I am a big fan of Duct Tape, and have been even before Homeland Security recommended it. During a chilly limp around the lake I spotted this basic use.

+ 0 - 0 | § Nippy

It was about 12 degrees yesterday (Sunday), with a nice stiff wind. Friday, we still did not get any snow and I think my request for snow was mis-interpreted because we got rain instead. Rain tends to freeze when it comes in contact with objects that are way below 32 degrees Farenheit. i.e. the streets and sidewalks. Which made driving around Friday night after my futbol game pretty exciting. Regardless, Saturday and Sunday looked nice from inside a warm building. Mostly clear and sunny.

Blue Sky Over Lake Monona

It also looked nice from outside the warm building, with 3 shirts, 1 sweatshirt, a ski coat, 2 hoods a hat and a full face mask, plus wind pants on top of thermals and sweat pants. The perfect day to say, walk out to the middle of the lake and see what kind of trouble could be had on top of 7-12 inches of ice, without ice skates. (My Docs are like HumVee's for the feet.) This freakish cloudy-really-light-teasing-snow with no accumulation is for the birds.. or not, they already flew south. Could somebody please reboot mother nature so we actually start getting some white stuff here?

+ 0 - 0 | § The Crypt

After sleeping for about an hour, I woke up. My thoughts were running a mile a minute so going back to sleep was out of the question. So I started reading the book I've been working on this week. Cryptonomicon by Neal Steppenson.
Note: if you have trouble sleeping, do not read this book as an alternative. Stick with reading the dictionary or an encyclopedia from ~1950. I ended up reading from 11:45 till about 3 am. I finally put the book down without letting myself pick it up again and forced myself to think about erasing chalk boards, where my thoughts were what was written on the chalk board.
