+ 1 - 0 | § Four Star Video Heaven

A few months ago (August) I moved to downtown Madison from the far west side. I decided I wanted to experience the metropolitan life. *laugh* (Madison only has ~200,000 people)
Well, I had to find a new cookie shop, grocery store and the like and have done pretty well. I have also lucked out because my PKS and NRS used to live downtown and have lots of suggestions on places to see and people to go.

Since I moved, they have asked me, on several different occasions, if I had rented a movie from the 4 star place. I kept having to say no since I found netflix I do not usually have to leave the house for DVD's. Well, the dvd-of-the-day, children of the lost city, or something like that was cracked, and my PS2 kept saying "can't read disk". go figure. (you would try to play a cracked DVD wouldn't you?) Since I was all wound up to watch a DVD, and this was a DVD emergency (at least level orange) the rental place popped into my head. A quick call to NRS and PKS and I was all set with directions on how to get to the video store six blocks away.

Now I realize why they kept asking me if I had gone. That place is HUGE! Besides that, all the movies are alphabetical in their category, so the XXX version of Debbie Does Dallas is right next to Disney. Amusingly enough. That was not the best part though, what was most remarkable was the stock of foreign films. I love watching foreign films and this place is a gold mine. Thanks guys!

It was almost 50 today (farenheit) and sunny. I would prefer that it be snowing, unfortunately the freezing point of water is below 50F. In short, no snow for today. If its not going to snow, sunny is my second choice. The only days I do not really care for, are when it is lower than 20F and there is a stiff wind that causes body parts to get numb. Since it was warm and sunny, I walked from my house, on the isthmus (Madison Wisconsin USA), to a bakery/cafe on the (near?) west side of Madison.

Madison

See illlustration. :) I walked from just NE (right and up) of the capitol (which is the dent in the center of the Madison picture that looks inside out) to where I was no longer on the isthmus. According to the map it is 3.5 miles, and it took me a little less than 1 hour to walk it. That includes stopping to take a picture.

The bakery/cafe happens to also be a live (free) wireless internet hot spot. So for the price of Coffee, water and a sandwich ($7.92) I got a good walk, food and internet.

The packers won their game, what a run.. 98 yards? nfl.com shows the game as it progresses.

I wonder, since I just told an account of the game according to me, if I could get in trouble? Based on the disclaimer at the beginning of the televised game the NFL owns those (and all other) rights. However, since I did not watch The Game on TV, and thusly was not forced to see that if I talk about the game to anyone I could go to jail I should be clear.

That is enough thinking for one day, time to start the trek home.

Well, santa came and went. Luckily I got this lump of coal, sold it for a small fortune to California. Here are a few items from some elves that took pitty on my plight. Continued..

Troubleshooting...
I tell this set of web scripts to create, so it deletes. Somehow what I want is not coming across.

Resolutions
I commented out the part of the PHP function where it is supposed to delete.

As a typical computer-type introvert, I do not typically participate in social get-togethers unless coercian or extortion is involved. However, I made an exception, and it was fairly painless. I even played (and lost) my first game of Cranium. I think I wil use that game for the gift for friends that already have the more logical gifts. Have you evertried to get people to guess "reproduction" using charades?
